Who we are

One foot in Cairo. One in Madrid.

We're Talia and Ghalwash, two Egyptians who now call Madrid home. We started Itinerai to share Egypt as we know it: the people, places and moments that never make it into a brochure.

We look after every trip personally. When you travel with us, you'll always know who to call, and it will be one of us.

Every season, a different Egypt

Autumn to spring is for the temples.

From October to April, Cairo, Luxor and Aswan are at their best, the Nile is at its calmest, and the desert nights are full of stars.

A note from us

Late October is our quiet favourite: the summer heat has gone, and the winter crowds haven't arrived yet.

FAQ

Questions we're often asked

If your question isn't here, just ask us. We're happy to help.

Still have a question?

We answer every message ourselves, usually within the day.

Ask us on WhatsApp
How much does a trip cost?

Every trip is built from scratch, so the cost depends on what you choose: how many days, the style of hotels, a Nile cruise or a private dahabeya, and the experiences you add along the way. Tell us your dates and what you have in mind, and we'll send you a proposal. It's free, with no obligation.

Is Egypt safe?

Yes, absolutely! Egypt is one of the most welcoming places you'll ever visit, and Egyptians love having guests. The places we travel, like Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea, welcome millions of visitors every year. And you're never on your own: we're with you from the moment you land until you fly home.

Do I need a visa?

Yes, plus a passport valid for six months after you're back. Most travellers simply get the visa at the airport when they land, and we'll be there waiting for you.

When's the best time to go?

There's no wrong time, just different trips. October to April is perfect for the temples and the Nile. From June to September, Egypt is all about the sea.

Can we travel in the summer?

Yes, 100%! Summer is when Egyptians head to the North Coast, and it's one of our favourite trips to plan. Think white sand and turquoise Mediterranean water at places like Almaza Bay and Sidi Heneish: some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and a truly local Egyptian summer. We can pair it with a few days in Cairo, with sightseeing in the cooler mornings, or make the whole trip about the sea.

Will we be in a group?

Never. Your trip is just for you and the people you bring, with your own guide and your own transport.
